10 easy tips to adapt a fun lifestyle routine.

Hi beauties! I have been thinking about a lot of women I know personally, who feel as if they are living a stagnant lifestyle. But believe me, there is no such thing as a stagnant lifestyle. You know why? Because there is so much to explore and look forward to each day, if you plan things out for yourself. You, and only you are responsible for creating a lifestyle that you desire. A lot of you don’t know where and how to start, which is okay. Gradually and slowly, you can start developing your own personal lifestyle routine. It’s really simple, all you have to do is start by making a list of things you enjoy, and then put them into action. To make it even easier for you, I thought it would be a good idea to share some things I like to enjoy as part of my lifestyle routine. When I put these things into action, I truly feel like I have accomplished something. I feel confident, happy, excited and really look forward to each day. Here is the list of 10 things I have been enjoying lately.

1. Set Goals

Setting goals is the key to accomplish what you have in mind. You can start by making a list of things you want to accomplish in a week, and work on them on a daily basis to see the results. For example, let’s say that you want to read a book and finish it by the end of the month. You can set weekly goals to read a certain number of chapters. By the end of the month, you will be able to complete the book. It’s that simple! Likewise, you can set goals for the list of things you want to enjoy and explore.

2. Explore a new place

Really there are so many places you can explore and you don’t always have to travel far for that. If you have already seen a place, go there again and learn about it from a different perspective. Take pictures, hang out and see what else can be explored around that area. Plan it out to visit a new place at least every other weekend or once a month. Research about the place before you go so you are aware of the surroundings and the best spots. You will love the experience and will look forward to visiting a new place every time.

3. Try a DIY project

Instagram and Pinterest has some great ideas for DIY projects. I always wanted to try and make my own scented candles but was afraid that I will not be able to do so. A few months ago, I finally decided to give it a try and I was amazed with the end product. I made my own eucalyptus, lavender, and jasmine scented candles. My friends and co-workers loved them and asked me if I could make some more for them. Now I make it a point to try at least one DIY project every couple months.

4. Read a book or article

You may feel that you don’t really have the time to read with all the other things going on in your day to day routine. However, you don’t have to read every day. Start by reading a book or article every other day or every two days. Maybe, you want to learn about a certain topic of interest, or a particular individual who inspires you. Set your goal as I shared in #1. I just started reading a book on macrobiotics which I have been wanting to read since my friend gifted it to me a few months ago. As part of my goal, I read a chapter every day in the evening when I have finished making dinner.

5. Try a new body wash/lotion

I really look forward to this every time I finish a bottle of lotion or body wash. I usually go to bath and body works to see what type of seasonal scent they are selling at the time. I recently bought their new scent called rose quartz, and I am in LOVE with it. I stocked up on it for the next 3 months. Try a new scent you would like, go to a store of your choice and treat yourself to a nice lotion and body wash.

6. Get yourself some healthy goodies

We all love to snack when we feel hungry in between meals, so why not make it a healthy choice. Healthy snacks are not always boring or tasteless. There is a variety of healthy and delicious snacks you can choose from your local whole foods store. I just discovered these delicious and guilt-free bite-sized energy snacks at my local health food store. I kid you not, they taste just like chocolate and are only 40 calories each! They contain six superfoods and are packed with nutrients. I also love kale chips as a healthy snack option, which you can make your own too. When you eat clean, you feel good. I always look forward to getting myself some healthy treats.

7. Create a new recipe

Find a recipe online and try making it your own way. I usually look for a recipe and make my own healthy version of it. Sometimes, I even like to change the cuisine up completely. For example, I developed my own version of a healthy and gluten-free tacos. Also, instead of a standard Mexican taco, I made it a Thai taco. Thinking out of the box can really work wonders. I was amazed with the flavors and everyone wanted seconds.

8. Express gratitude

We don’t realize, but there is always something to be grateful for on a daily basis. Get yourself a gratitude journal and note down at least a thing or two you are grateful for every day. Right before going to bed, I make it a point to write down what I was grateful for today. Really, when you look back and read what you wrote a month ago, you feel so positive. The more gratitude you express, the more positive and better person you become.

9. Attend fun local events

Depending on where you live, once in a while or often, there is a fun event happening in the area. Find out what’s happening on an upcoming weekend in or near your neighborhood. It could be a local fair, food throw down or music event. You could meet new people there, make new friends and it can be a refresher for you after a long week of working. I attended a ceviche throw down where 8-10 restaurants participated in making some unique ceviche recipes. It was a lot of fun because we, “the audience” got to taste all these different ceviche, and then vote on the best one. It was a new and fun experience for me and I learned about some excellent restaurants which I did not know existed around me.

10. Enhance your workspace

Whether it’s your desk at home or work, you want to keep it clean, organized, comfortable and beautiful. Make sure that your work space is well-lit and clutter-free. Organize your workspace by assigning a designated space for each item. Put labels on folders and notebooks for easy access. Place beautiful and inspiring wall art and décor for positivity in site. Burn scented candles and utilize essential oils in an aromatherapy diffuser. I start my workday by lighting a nice little scented candle, the current one I’m using is from target. I also use a diffuser by placing some sandalwood oil in it for a nice aroma. This just creates a calm and serene atmosphere and relieves stress while working.

So there you have it! Adapt this simple lifestyle routine and make it a point to practice it daily, weekly or monthly. I promise you, you will become so positive, confident and happy. This routine will keep you busy and excited at the same time. You will look forward to things and feel accomplished as you complete and check off the things on your list.
